Looking Forward To The New Google Chrome OS

July 16th, 2009

A question thats been on my mind the last few years is, do Google think they own the internet. I mean if you want to have a successful website you need to build and construct your content in a way google sees fit. If their algorithm doesn’t like your site you have no hope of succeeding as 80% of a sites first time visits come from them.

I guess my point is with the relase of Google Chrome and now the Google Chrome OS eventually we will all have to go through one of Google products to access the internet. Giving them perfect opportunity to tell us what they think is appropriate information for a particular search. Which is sometimes not the case.

Is this a good thing? I guess its the naturaly progression that you would assume for a company such as Google to release an operating system. Yahoo must be kicking themselves, they sort of just built a search engine and never really moved from there.

It is interesting that the project is open source. I guess thats the way the worlds going. If you didn’t get your foot in the door in the early 80’s for operating systems, you won’t exatly be able to sell them know.
